How to Get to the Post-Game in Dragon Quest IX

"Dragon Quest IX" for the Nintendo DS has several hidden gems and secrets, not the least of which is the interactive post-game feature. Several new quests and dungeons become available once you reach the post-game in "Dragon Quest IX." You can unlock new vocations for your characters, find extremely powerful weapons and even gain complete control over the Starfleet Express in these special adventures. In order to access the post-game, you first need to complete the main storyline in "Dragon Quest IX."

Instructions

- 1
  Play through the game until you gain access to the boat. You get the boat after helping Marion and Marionette in Bloomingdale. You should have four of the seven fyggs at this point.

  Collect the final three fyggs from around the world. Get the first of these fyggs from the city of Gleeba on the desert island to the west of Newid Isle. The second of the final three fyggs is in Batsureg town on the land mass directly north of Gleeba. The last fygg is at Swinedimples Academy to the west of Batsureg.

  Attempt to take the fyggs back to the observatory. Aquila will show up, steal the fyggs from you and wreck the Starfleet Express. After being nursed back to health by Wallace, play through the game until you reach the town of Upover.

  Climb the Magmaroo and speak with the dragon Greygnarl. This will kick off a series of events that will eventually lead you to the Gortress, the Gitish Empire's prison.

  Escape from the Gortress and return to the Observatory. Take Apus Major to the Realm of the Almighty. Go to Gittingham Palace after this scene and defeat King Godwyn. After King Godwyn dies, search the basement for Zenus. You will not find him. Instead, you will find Corvus. Free him and watch the scene unfold.

  Return to the Realm of the Almighty, which has been transformed by Corvus. Make your way through this dungeon and defeat Corvus.

  Watch the entire ending sequence. Once this is over, you will regain control of your character and be in the post-game section of "Dragon Quest IX."
