About Dragonite
Dragonite is a large marine Pokemon belonging to the Dragon and Flying types. It is the final form of Dratini and may learn several different moves through leveling or being taught by Technical Machines, Hidden Machines or move tutors.
Catching Dratini or Dragonair
Travel to Mt. Coronet and head to floor 4F. When fishing on this floor with a Super Rod, both above and below the waterfall, you have a 30 percent chance of catching a Level 15 to 25 Dratini and a 5 percent chance of catching a Level 15 to 40 Dragonair.
Evolution Requirements
Once a Dratini reaches at least Level 30, it will evolve into a Dragonair. A Dragonair that reaches Level 55 will evolve into a Dragonite. Because these Pokemon belong to the Slow experience group, your Dratini may need to earn up to 29,532 experience to evolve into a Dragonair, depending on what level it was when you caught it. Your Dragonair will need to earn up to 293,750 experience to evolve into a Dragonite, depending on whether you evolved it from Dratini or caught it and, if the latter, the level at which you caught it.
Considerations
Obtain a Dragonite can be quite time consuming, depending on your luck with catching a higher-level Dratini or Dragonair. The best possible scenario is for you to catch a Level 40 Dragonair; however, due to the low catch rate for Dragonair and the large variation in available levels, this may take quite some time. Continue fishing until you are tired of it, even after you have caught a Dratini or Dragonair, and use the highest-level Dratini or Dragonair to evolve into a Dragonite.
