How to Make Vulpix Into a Ninetails in Pokemon SoulSilver

The Pokemon Vulpix and its evolved form Ninetails have appeared in "Pokemon" games since the beginning of the series, including "Pokemon SoulSilver" for the Nintendo DS. No matter which "Pokemon" game you play, the only way to evolve a Vulpix into a Ninetails is with a special item called a Fire Stone. There are several ways to collect a Fire Stone in "Pokemon SoulSilver," including possibly receiving it as a gift by winning the Bug Catching Contest at National Park. However, the easiest way to obtain a Fire Stone coincidentally requires you to have a Vulpix in your party.

     Catch a wild Vulpix by encountering it in the wild and weakening it with your strongest attacks until it is weak enough to capture with a Poke Ball. Vulpix is found in several areas of the "Pokemon SoulSilver" world, including Route 7, Route 8, Route 36, Route 37 and Route 48.

     Put Vulpix at the front of your party and travel to the house on Route 22.

     Talk to Bill's grandfather inside the house with Vulpix in the front of your party to receive a Fire Stone.

     Open the item menu and select the Fire Stone. Use the Fire Stone on Vulpix to evolve it into Ninetails.
