How to Get Deoxys in Pearl

The legendary Pokemon Deoxys must be migrated to "Pokemon Pearl" in order for it to be caught. By attaching one of the Game Boy Advance Pokemon games, "Emerald," "FireRed" or "LeafGreen" to "Slot-2" of the Nintendo DS, you can send captured Pokemon into the Pal Park where they can be caught and added to the National Pokedex of "Pokemon Pearl."

Things You'll Need

  • "Pokemon Emerald," "Pokemon FireRed" or "Pokemon LeafGreen."
  • Aurora Ticket

Instructions

    • 1

Insert your Game Boy Advance device into Slot-2 of the Nintendo DS. Start the game and make your way to Birth Island, accessed from the S.S. Tidal ferry port in "Emerald" or the Seagallop Ferries' dock in "FireRed" and "LeafGreen."

    • 2

Board the ferry by presenting the AuroraTicket, a special item that can be acquired at a Nintendo Event or through a trade. By showing the ticket you will have access to Birth Island.

    • 3

Walk off the ferry and straight ahead onto the triangular island. In the center you will find a triangular stone. Press "A" on the stone and it will move away from you. Follow its movement, taking the shortest path possible, otherwise it will return to its starting position. Eventually Deoxys will appear.

    • 4

Weaken Deoxys by attacking it with one of your Pokemon. Use moves that inflict Sleep or Poison and try to get its health as low as possible without letting it faint. Deoxys is around level 30, so use an equally matched or slightly higher leveled Pokemon.

    • 5

Use the touch screen to throw a Great Ball or Ultra Ball to catch Deoxys. Save the game and switch off the Nintendo DS. Now put "Pokemon Pearl" into "Slot-1" of the console. Leave the Game Boy Advance game in "Slot-2."

    • 6

Load "Pokemon Pearl" and select "Migrate From..." on the main menu. You will be asked if you wish to continue. Select "Yes" on the touch screen to continue.

    • 7

Highlight Deoxys along with five other Pokemon to migrate and press "Yes" again. You will return to the main menu screen. Continue your game on "Pokemon Pearl" and make your way to Pal Park, to the east of Sandgem Town coast.

    • 8

Enter the building and speak with the man at the counter. He will explain how to use the Pal Park and enter you into a "Catching Competition." When he has finished talking you will enter the park itself.

    • 9

Walk around the tall grass and eventually the battle screen will appear. The Pokemon that appears will be one of your migrated Pokemon. Keep walking through the grass until Deoxys appears. Throw a Park Ball to capture the Pokemon.
