How to Hatch an Egg in Pearl

You can breed two similar Pokemon at the daycare in "Pokemon Pearl" to produce a Pokemon egg. The man at the daycare will give you the egg, but it's your job to hatch it. You must hatch the egg by taking a certain number of steps or biking a certain distance with the egg in your Pokemon party. You will add a new baby Pokemon to your growing collection once the egg hatches.

Things You'll Need

Egg
Optional:
Bicycle
Pokemon with Magma Armor or Flame Body Ability

Instructions

  Catch a Pokemon with the Magma Armor or Flame Body ability and put it in your party. This will half the amount of steps needed to hatch your egg. Pokemon with these abilities include: Slugma, Magcargo, Camerupt, Magby, Magmar and Magmortar.

  Place the egg into the first slot of your party.

  Find an area where you can bike or run for a long distance. Solaceon Town near the Pokemon Daycare Center is particularly useful for this.

  Ride or run back and forth over this large open area until the egg hatches. Alternatively, you can simply continue playing your game as normal and the egg will hatch once you've taken enough steps.
