How to Get the Experience Share in Sapphire

You're able to get many items that boost the performance of your Pokemon in "Pokemon Sapphire" for the Nintendo DS. One of the most important of these items is the Experience Share, which allows the Pokemon that is holding it to gain extra experience after a battle. This item is incredibly useful for Pokemon who tend to level up more slowly than others, as it allows them to keep from falling too far behind the rest of your team. This item is found fairly early in the game.

Instructions

- 1
  Enter Rustboro City. You should have already beaten your first Team Aqua grunt on your way to Rustboro. Enter the Rustboro Gym. Defeat Roxanne, the Rustboro Gym leader, if you haven't already.

  Exit the gym and go left. A small cutscene will play, and you will see the Team Aqua grunt you defeated earlier being chased by a man. Go up and talk to the man after the cutscene. Let him tell you about the stolen Devon Goods. Accept his mission and go east to Route 116.

  Continue down Route 116 until you see an old man next to a cave. Let him tell you about his kidnapped Peeko, and then enter the cave.

  Go up the stairs after entering the cave and pick up the item. Go right and fight the Team Aqua grunt again. The Peeko will be freed.

  Go back to Rustboro City. When you enter it, the man who chasing the Grunt will thank you and take you to the large Devon Corporation building. Go to the top floor and wait to talk to Mr. Stone, who will give you a letter to deliver to a man named Steven on Dewford Island. Leave the building and go to Route 104.

  Travel down Route 104 until you reach the cottage of the old man whose pet you freed earlier. Talk to him and he will eventually take you to Dewford Island.

  Land at Dewford Town. Exit the town and go up Route 106 until you reach the Granite Cave. Talk to the hiker in the cave to get the Flash skill. Give it to a Pokemon that you aren't currently training and it will light up the cave a bit.

  Go downstairs. Continue forward down the tunnel, and go straight when the path forks until you find a ladder. Climb it and keep going down the tunnel. Climb the ladder and go in the opposite direction that you took to get to the ladder. If you went right to reach the ladder, go left after climbing it.

  Pass the ladder with the rock at the top and climb the next ladder. Go right and climb another ladder. Go left to the end and enter the door. Talk to the man inside and give him the letter.

  Exit the Granite Cave and return to Rustboro Town. Talk to Mr. Stone at the top of the Devon Corporation building. He will reward you with the Experience Share.
