How to Get a Pokémon Off a Pokéwalker After You Have Started a New Game

"Pokémon SoulSilver Version" and "Pokémon HeartGold Version" Game Cards for Nintendo DS comes bundled with a pedometer device known as the Pokéwalker. Using the Pokéwalker, you can transfer a Pokémon from your Nintendo DS "Pokémon" game to the device and carry it around with you, playing mini-games with it. However, after you start a new game on your DS, you will need to remove the old Pokémon from the Pokéwalker in order to upload new Pokémon. You can do this from the main menu of the game on your DS.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the Nintendo DS on a flat surface and set the Pokéwalker directly in front of it. Make sure the infrared portion of the Pokéwalker is facing the infrared port on the DS. Line them up to prevent any connection errors.

    • 2

Turn the DS on and select the "Pokémon " icon. Press "Start" at the title screen and select "Pokéwalker" from the options list.

    • 3

Press the "X" and "L" buttons at the same time, and then press down on the D-pad. The game will ask if you are sure that you want to erase the Pokéwalker data. Select "Yes." You can now place a different Pokémon onto the Pokéwalker from your new game.
