How to Get Ash's Pikachu in Pokemon Soul Silver

Red, who "Pokemon Soul Silver" players often refer to as Ash, is a Pokemon Trainer from Pallet Town. Outside of the Battle Frontier facilities, Red is the strongest non-player character in any main series game in the Pokemon Franchise. Red's most powerful Pokemon is his Level 88 Pikachu, which is holding the Light Ball. The Pikachu knows "Thunderbolt," "Iron Tail," "Quick Attack" and "Volt Tackle." You can use an Action Replay cheat code to capture this Pikachu while battling Red.

Instructions

  Insert the "Pokemon Soul Silver" cartridge into your Action Replay device. Create a new cheat called "Can Capture Trainer Pokemon." Enter the following cheat code:

  Activate the "Can Capture Trainer Pokemon" cheat in the Action Replay interface.

  Play "Pokemon Soul Silver" and obtain the eight Johto badges and eight Kanto badges. Go to the peak of Mount Silver. Fully heal your team of Pokemon with Hyper Potions, Max Revives, Full Restores and Ethers. Walk up to Red to engage him in battle.

  Fight Red and he will send out Pikachu as his first Pokemon of choice. Weaken the Pikachu with a Ground-type move, such as "Earthquake" or "Mud Shot." Burn, freeze, paralyze, poison or put Pikachu to sleep.

  Avoid causing Red's Pikachu to faint. If you defeat the Pikachu, or if the Electric-type Pokemon beats you, restart "Pokemon Soul Silver" to try again. Catch Red's Pikachu with an Ultraball, Fastball or Masterball. The Masterball will catch the Pikachu immediately, while the other Pokeballs may not.
