How to Work the Internet on a DSi

The Nintendo DSi is a hand-held gaming system you can use to play games, take pictures and even access the Internet. Before you can surf the Web, you must download the Nintendo DSi Browser and set up your Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. The browser supports Javascript and most image types, but it doesn't support Flash. It can only display http and https websites. You can use the Nintendo DSi Browser near a wireless router or at a hotspot.

Instructions

    • 1

Power on your Nintendo DSi, and select "System Settings," represented by a wrench icon. Go to the third page and choose "Internet," the fourth option. Select "Connection Settings" on the next screen.

    • 2

Click "None" next to "Connection 1," "Connection 2" or "Connection 3." Next, select "Search for Access Point." The Nintendo DSi will display every wireless network it locates. Scan the list and click on the name of your wireless network.

    • 3

Enter the WEP security code and double-check it before confirming the code. If the code is wrong, the Nintendo DSi won't connect to the wireless network. The hand-held device will connect to the wireless router in your home or at a hotspot.

    • 4

Return to the main menu of your Nintendo DSi. Tap the Nintendo DSi Shop icon. Download the Nintendo DSi Browser for free. Some Nintendo DSi units come with the application pre-installed.

    • 5

Select the Nintendo DSi Browser icon on the main menu of the Nintendo DSi. Surf the Internet with the touch screen and stylus.
