How to Get the Solar Beam in Platinum

"Pokemon: Platinum" features dozens of skills for the player's Pokemon to learn. These skills range from out-of-combat abilities, such as Strength and Rock Smash, that open up new paths and locations for the player to explore. Others are purely combat oriented, such as Solar Beam. This skill causes massive elemental damage to the enemy, and the player can get it without completing a quest or uncovering a carefully buried chest. Instead, it's available at the Veilstone Department Store.

     Travel to Veilstone City; it's north on Route 214 and east on Route 215.

     Enter the Veilstone Department Store; it's located in the center of town.

     Walk up to the third floor. Speak with the saleswoman and purchase Solar Beam. It costs $3000.
