How to Get Ancient Power in HeartGold

In "Pokemon HeartGold," a video game for the Nintendo DS portable console, you can unlock a powerful special attack, the Ancient Power, which allows you to fight more effectively against powerful opponents. In "Pokemon HeartGold," as in other games in the franchise, players can teach their Pokemon characterss new abilities and attack moves. You can unlock the Ancient Power move for your Pokemon by visiting the Move Tutor and bringing him the correct item.

Instructions

  Obtain a Heart Scale. This is a special item that you can get by using the "Smash Rock" ability on rocks. Since not every smashed rock will grant you a Heart Scale, you might have to use that ability a few times before obtaining the item.

  Go to Blackthorn City and walk to the left to reach the house where the tutors live.

  Give the Heart Scale to the Move Tutor. Also called the Move Maniac in this version of the game, the Move Tutor is the man in pink who is sitting next to the Move Deleter tutor. After giving him the item, the Move Tutor will teach the Ancient Power move to your Pokemon, allowing it to use it in battle.
