How to Get a Snorlax in Pearl

"Pokémon Pearl" is part of the fourth generation of the Pokémon series of video games. While trading must occur between the "Pearl" and "Diamond" versions to obtain every Pokémon, the ancestral Pokémon of Snorlax, Munchlax, is available in the "Pearl" version. Once acquired, Munchlax can transform into Snorlax. This Pokémon is particularly useful for its high hit point count (with a maximum of over 500).

  Apply honey to a golden tree anywhere in the game world. Munchlaxes are attracted by honey and occasionally come to trees where it is applied. A man in Floaroma Meadow sells honey for 100 Pokémon dollars.

  Wait at least six hours in real time (since the game clock mirrors real time) before you return to the tree. If the tree rustles around when it first appears on your screen, there is a Munchlax inside. Return within 24 hours or both the honey and the Pokémon will be gone.

  Approach the tree and press "A" to engage the Pokémon in battle. Lower its health with mid-powered attacks such as "Quick-attack" or "Flamethrower," and then throw a Pokéball at Munchlax to capture it.

  Give the Munchlax massages and feed it supplements such as zinc and calcium to increase its happiness. When it reaches its maximum happiness, it evolves into Snorlax.
