How to Make a New Pokemon File on SoulSilver?

In "Pokemon: SoulSilver," players scale the cities of Johto to collect Pokemon and battle rival trainers. After completing a game, players may wish to play through the storyline of "SoulSilver" again. However, players can only save one file at a time on "SoulSilver." Creating a new save file requires the deletion of the old file. Players can still select "New Game" from the title screen, but cannot save any progress.

Instructions

  Insert "SoulSilver" into the Nintendo DS and turn on the system. Wait until the title screen for the game appears. Keep the Pokewalker device, included when you purchase "SoulSilver," nearby. Select "Connect to Pokewalker" from the main menu. A new screen will appear.

  Hold down "X" and "Down" on the "D" pad. Select "L." A "Caution" menu appears. Select "Yes" to reset your Pokewalker. A screen confirming the deletion of saved data on the Pokewalker will appear.

  Return to the main menu of "SoulSilver." Press "Up" on the "D" pad, press the "Select" button and hit "B" at the same time. A prompt will appear, asking if you would like to delete the save file. Select "Yes" to permanently delete all saved game data.

  Access the main menu of "SoulSilver" again and select "New Game" to start a new game record. Press "Start" to enter the menu in "SoulSilver" during game play. Choose "Save" to save your game file.
