How to Get Different-Colored Trainer Cards in Diamond

In "Pokemon Diamond," your Trainer Card displays your name, money, obtained badges and other information, acting as a status screen. Your default Trainer Card is red, but it can change color when you accomplish certain difficult objectives, like defeating powerful trainers or completing your Pokedex. Each accomplishment changes your color status: first to blue, then to bronze, then to silver, then gold, then black. The color of your Trainer Card doesn't serve any purpose beyond displaying your accomplishments, but the status symbol of having a higher-colored card can spur on ambitious players.

Instructions

    • 1

Defeat the Sinnoh Elite Four (Aaron, Bertha, Flint and Lucian) and the Pokemon League Champion (Cynthia) to raise the color of your trainer badge by one level.

    • 2

Win any Master-rank Super Contest to raise the color of your trainer badge by one level. Give a Pokemon appropriate Poffins to raise its condition. Wear an appropriate Scarf (obtained by showing a Pokemon with a maxed-out contest stat to the Scarf Guy in Pastoria City) to improve your condition further --- Red Scarves increase the Coolness stat, Blue Scarves Beauty, Pink Scarves Cuteness, Green Scarves Smartness and Yellow Scarves Toughness. Obtain accessories by walking in Amity Square, getting a massage from the Massage Lady in Veilstone City (one accessory each day), visiting the Pick a Peck of Flowers Shop in Floaroma City (exchange berries for accessories) and winning the dress-up portion of contests.

    • 3

Play Capture the Flag in the Sinnoh Underground --- capture 50 flags to earn the Platinum Flag and increase your trainer card color by one level.

    • 4

Complete your Pokedex by capturing or trading for every Pokemon except for the event-only Pokemon (Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin and Arceus), Lugia and Ho-Oh to increase your trainer card color by one level.

    • 5

Win 100 consecutive battles at the Battle Tower to increase your trainer card color by one level --- you can save and quit between battle sets and continue later by speaking to the attendant again, but resetting or turning off the Nintendo DS while a battle is in progress will reset your winning streak to zero.
