How to Get Team Galactic Out of the Way on Your Way to Snowpoint City

In "Pokemon Diamond," "Pearl" and "Platinum," you must travel to each of the eight gyms in the Sinnoh region. At every gym, if your skill with Pokemon prevails, you earn a special Badge that proves your training ability and allows you to progress. On your way to the gym in Snowpoint City, you run into a pair of Team Galactic henchmen who are blocking the path to Lake Acuity. The henchmen refuse to move unless you get the Icicle Badge from the Snowpoint City gym leader.

  Enter Snowpoint City, located at the end of Route 217 and to the east of the Lake Acuity entrance.

  Go to the Pokemon Center in the city if you need to rearrange and heal your team before battle. When selecting team members, choose a fire-type leader. One high-level fire-type Pokemon will demolish your foes in the Snowpoint City gym. Fighting and steel-types also do well.

  Head to the gym in the center of the city. Solve the puzzle in the gym by sliding around on the icy floor so that you destroy the snowballs blocking your path.

  Talk to Candice when you reach her after solving the puzzle. Say "Yes" to start the battle. Candice's team consists of Sneasel, Snover, Medicham and Abomasnow. Hit all of them with a fire attack or two to kill them fast. You receive the Icicle Badge for this victory.

  Leave Snowpoint City and walk west to get to the Lake Acuity entrance. The Team Galactic grunts are now gone, and you are free to enter.
