How to Get Dratini in 'Pokemon Diamond'

In "Pokemon Diamond," the shy Dragon-type Pokemon Dratini hides itself well within the waters of Mt. Coronet. Dratini is a versatile fighter, able to learn Ice, Fire and Psychic-type moves. Dratini is just a baby Pokemon, and although it is very powerful, it becomes even stronger when it eventually evolves into Dragonair and its final form, Dragonite. After you defeat the Elite Four, the Island Area opens. You must go there and obtain the Super Rod to catch Dratini in Mt. Coronet.

Instructions

  Go to Snowpoint City, located to the right of Acuity Lakefront, after you beat the Elite Four. If you do not want to walk, select Snowpoint City on your map and select "Yes" to fly to the Pokemon Center there.

  Go the docks in southern Snowpoint City. Talk to the sailor by the boat and select "Island Area" as your destination.

  Get off the boat at the Island Area and walk north. Speak to the fishing man to get the Super Rod.

  Fast-travel to Oreburgh City, located east of Route 203. Walk north to leave the city and then head west to reach Mt. Coronet. Go through the cave door.

  Proceed through Mt. Coronet until you reach the snowy upper level. Use Rock Climb on the mountain wall to go up.

  Walk east and then north. Face the waterfall and press "A" to cast your fishing line. Dratini appears to battle you. Its level is fairly low, so capture it with an Ultra Ball after lowering its hit points (HP).
