How to Get Yanma in Pearl

Yanma is a rare bug-type Pokemon that can be found in the Great Marsh, which is the Sinnoh region's Safari Zone game, in the "Pearl" and "Diamond" versions of "Pokemon." Catching a Pokemon in this Safari Zone, however, is different from the traditional way because, instead of battling them, you are allowed 500 steps and 30 Safari Balls to try to capture wild Pokemon before the game is over. Yanma is a daily binocular Pokemon, which means it only has a 10 percent chance of appearing every day.

Instructions

    • 1

Obtain the National Dex. Defeat the Elite Four and see or capture the first 150 Pokemon from the Sinnoh Dex. Once you complete these requirements, return to Sandgem Town and speak with Professor Rowan. After completing the Sinnoh Dex, Professor Oak will join the conversation and give you the National Dex.

    • 2

Go to Pastoria City in the Sinnoh region and enter the Safari Game building. Head to the upstairs level of this building.

    • 3

Look through one of the three pairs of binoculars. This costs 100 pokedollars. If you are lucky, you will see Yanma as the binoculars reveal the location of the daily Pokemon. If not, wait until the next day or restart your game and try again.

    • 4

Return to the first floor of the building and go out into the Safari Game. Head to the area where you saw the Yanma and capture it using a Safari Ball.
