How to Know When It Is Day or Night in Pokemon SoulSilver

Starting with the second generation of "Pokemon" games, time became an important factor in carrying out events or finding and capturing particular Pokemon. The Nintendo DS' game clock controls the time of day in "Pokemon: SoulSilver." As a result, each minute that passes results in one minute of time passage in "SoulSilver." There are a few clues that can help you determine the time of day in-game.

Instructions

    • 1

Set the time on the Nintendo DS. Turn off the power and remove all games. Turn on the system and use the stylus to navigate to the main menu. Select the "Settings" panel and then the "Calendar/Time" icon using the stylus pen. Touch the clock icon and use the stylus pen to touch the up or down arrows to set the hour and minute. Select "Confirm" in the bottom right corner to set the clock. Turn off the system and insert "SoulSilver."

Load the save file in "SoulSilver." The top screen of the Nintendo DS always features the day of the week and the time in-game. The hours between 4 a.m. and 9:59 a.m. comprise the "morning" hours. During game-play, a faint blue tinge covers the screen during the morning hours. It does not appear as dark as at nighttime, but the lighting is not as bright as it is during the daytime.

Take note of the hours between 10 a.m. and 7:59 p.m., which are the daytime hours in "SoulSilver." Twilight sets around 5 p.m. During the daytime, the scenery in-game looks vibrant. It does not appear shaded. Night lasts from 8 p.m. until 3:59 p.m. The scenery in "SoulSilver" appears darkest during the night hours.
