How to Open the Motel to Get Darkrai in Pokemon

Darkrai is an extremely powerful Dark-type Pokemon that feasts on the nightmares of people. To get to Darkrai, you will need a Member's Pass to unlock the door to the motel in Canalave City in "Pokemon Diamond," "Pokemon Pearl" or "Pokemon Platinum." Nintendo distributed the Member's Pass online in 2009. Because Nintendo is no longer distributing the Member's Pass, the only way to obtain it is through an Action Replay. Once you unlock the motel's door, Darkrai will appear in your dreams, and you can then travel to New Moon Island to battle him.

  Connect your Pokemon game to the Action Replay and plug it into your DS.

  Start the Pokemon game. Load your save file. Find the Member's Pass in your inventory.

  Travel to the motel in Canalave City. Rest in the room. During the night, Darkrai will visit you. The next day, your map will reveal his location.

  Travel to the shipping dock and show the map to the sailor. He will take you to New Moon Island, where you can battle and capture Darkrai.
