How to Get a Giratina in Pokémon Platinum

"Pokemon Platinum" is a part of the fourth generation of games in the "Pokemon" video game series. It is available on the Nintendo DS handheld gaming system, and it is the upgraded version of the "Pokemon Pearl" and "Pokemon Diamond" titles. Giratina is one of the many Legenadry Pokemon that exists and is able to be obtained. It is a mysterious Ghost and Dragon type Pokemon that is without gender and was awakened by the trainer Cyrus at Spear Pillar.

Instructions

  Stock up on Dusk Balls, a special type of Pokeball that has a greater capture rate at night and in caves. You can purchase the balls in the various Pokemarts across the world.

  Go into the portal that takes you to Distortion World. You can only catch Giratina the first time you go to Distortion World. This portal appears and is accessible upon defeating the Galactic Admins at Spear Pillar on Mt. Coronet.

  Traverse through Distortion World under the guidance of three Legendaries that appear and lead you into the portal during the cutscene that happens after defeating the Galactic Admins. Fight Cyrus once you reach the inner part of the world. Save your game and continue forward after defeating the trainer.

  Interact with Giratina in your path by pressing the "A" button. Your battle will begin. Lower its HP, or hit points, until it is in critical condition.

  Use your Dusk Balls to capture Giratina. If you run out of Dusk Balls, you may still be able to capture it with other Pokeballs, such as Ultra Balls or Timer Balls. You can guarantee capturing him by using a Mater Ball, which is extremely rare, but then you will not have the ball when you need to catch other Legendary Pokemon.
