How to Get the Move Headbutt in Pokemon Diamond

"Headbutt" is a basic attack move that nearly every Pokemon is able to learn. In "Pokemon Diamond," this move is much more useful than in Generation I games such as the Red and Blue versions, because your Pokemon can use the move outside of battle. When a Pokemon uses Headbutt in the field, it knocks over trees and releases wild Pokemon for you to obtain.

Instructions

  Level up your Pokemon. There are 29 Pokemon in this game that begin with the Headbutt move or learn it naturally. These Pokemon include Seel, Cubone, Zigzagoon, Aron, Shelgon and Cranidos.

  Trade your Pokemon to the HeartGold, SoulSilver or Platinum version. In HeartGold and SoulSilver, go to the first Move Tutor in the game, who is located in Ilex Forest. He can teach Headbutt to over 400 different Pokemon, which is nearly every one in the game that can't learn it naturally, and he does it for free. In Platinum, the first tutor is located in a house on Route 212. You must pay him in shards, and he will teach a Pokemon "Zen Headbutt." Pokemon also can naturally learn this version of Headbutt and be traded to your Diamond version.

  Breed Pokemon. Certain Pokemon, such as Electrike and Buizel, learn Headbutt by breeding. In all, 12 Pokemon can learn this move from breeding in Diamond, and others can learn Zen Headbutt in Platinum by breeding, as well.
