How to Evolve an Exeggcute in Pokemon Pearl

The Pokemon Exeggcute is one of the many Pokemon that does not evolve automatically when it reaches a predetermined level, which is the usual method. Exeggcute, like many grass-type Pokemon, requires the use of a Leaf Stone to evolve. In "Pokemon Pearl," though, a Leaf Stone can be much harder to acquire than in other Pokemon games. While the number of Leaf Stones one can acquire is unlimited in "Pearl," it requires luck and a particular method that does not appear in any other game in the series.

Instructions

Acquire a Leaf Stone

  Enter Eterna City and go into the house next to the Pokemon Center. Speak to the Underground Man. Receive the Explorer Kit from the man after speaking with him.

  Select the Explorer Kit from the "Key Item" menu. Activate the Explorer Kit to enter the underground area.

  Use the map that appears on the screen to locate the sparkling spots in the walls. Investigate any of these spots to activate the rock chiseling minigame.

  Chisel away at the rocks using the chisel and hammer. Reveal an item fully in order to acquire it.
Evolve Exeggcute

  Exit the underground so that you can again access your Pokemon. Add Exeggcute to your party before attempting to evolve it.

  Enter the item menu. Locate the Leaf Stone and then select it.

  Select "Use" and choose the Exeggcute from your party and it will evolve into an Exeggutor automatically. Refrain from pressing "B," which will cancel the evolution.
