How to Get Your Mom to Buy a Moonstone in SoulSilver

Players prone to overspending in the Nintendo DS game "Pokemon: SoulSilver" can inject some fiscal responsibility into their gameplay. The protagonist's mother will offer to hold onto a percentage of all of the money that the player makes. Players can visit Mom in New Bark Town to withdraw or deposit money. Occasionally, Mom will spend the player's money to purchase items such as berries or Moon Stones. Her selections are random, so players simply have to wait for Mom to buy a Moon Stone.

Instructions

  Speak to Mom in New Bark Town or call her on the phone to set up the savings arrangement. Mom will not save any of the player's money if the player initially declined her savings offer until the player contacts her and accepts the offer.

  Visit Mom and speak to her. Select "Deposit" to deposit money into your account. Players also can enter gym battles, battle trainers or sell items to earn money. A quarter of all the player's earnings are sent directly to Mom.

  Wait for a phone call from Mom. If she indicates that she has purchased an item for you, travel to any Poke Mart. Speak to the delivery man wearing red in the Poke Mart to acquire the item Mom purchased. The delivery man can only hold up to five items, making it imperative that the player collects Mom's gifts as quickly as possible.

  Continue to visit the Poke Mart after Mom's promptings until you receive the Moon Stone. Mom selects her gifts from among 25 items, including the Moon Stone.
