How to Get Mesprit in Pokemon Diamond

The legendary Pokemon of "Pokemon: Diamond Version" offer high levels, strong stats and powerful moves. However, the benefits of a legendary Pokemon come at the price of difficult capture. The Pokemon Mesprit resides within the cavern of Lake Verity until you talk to it. After you speak to Mesprit, the Pokemon flees any time you approach. To catch Mesprit without using your Master Ball, stun it before you attempt to whittle down its Hit Points.

Instructions

  Visit Mt. Coronet. Climb upward, battling trainers and wild Pokemon as necessary.

  Defeat the trainers at the peak of Mt. Coronet to enter a battle with dragon Pokemon Dialga. Catch Dialga or drain his HP until he faints.

  Visit the nearest Pokemon Center and equip a Pokemon with the move Surf. Walk to the counter of the Pokemon Center to heal your Pokemon.

  Walk to Lake Verity, located northwest of Twinleaf Town and west of Mt. Coronet.

  Surf to the middle of the lake and enter the cavern inside the lake. Walk to Mesprit, who sits inside the cavern. Mesprit flees as soon as you approach.

  Fly to Solaceon Town and enter Route 209. Tap the arrow of the DS's touch screen to cycle through applications until you get to "Marking Map." If the map does not display Mesprit, walk back into Solaceon Town.

  Enter Route 209 and check Mesprit's location again. Repeat the process until Mesprit appears on the map.

  Walk around the tall grass until you enter a battle with Mesprit. Attack Mesprit with Mean Look or Block to prevent the Pokemon from fleeing.

  Attack Mesprit until its HP drains near zero. Throw an Ultra Ball at Mesprit to catch it. If Mesprit flees, repeat the process of locating and fighting it.
