How to Get Surfing Pikachu in Yellow Forest

Nintendo released the Yellow Forest route for "Pokemon: SoulSilver" between April 1 and May 5, 2010. Players who downloaded this route can capture a rare Pikachu with the "surfing" capability. Capturing the Pikachu is no harder than any other Pokemon once you encounter one. However, setting up an encounter is highly difficult since it requires a ton of steps on your Pokewalker and some good luck.

Instructions

    • 1

Walk at least 10,000 steps on your Pokewalker in a single day. Pikachu from the "A" group, those with flying and surf capabilities, will not show up unless you have at least 10,000 steps. The step count resets every day.

    • 2

Walk around the Yellow Forest until you encounter a Pokemon and see the "!!!" symbol. This indicates the Pikachu is in the "A" group. Do not click on any "!" or "!!" symbol.

    • 3

Battle the Pikachu until you decrease its health points, or HP, down to the red, but don't knock it out. Catch it with a Pokeball, then click on the Pikachu and select "Stats." There is a 3 percent chance it will show the Pikachu has surf ability. There is a 2 percent chance it is a flying Pikachu. That means there is a 95 percent chance it is just an ordinary, regular Pikachu.
