How to Get a Shiny Uxie in Pokemon Pearl Version

In "Pokemon Pearl Version," you have a 1 in 8,192 chance of finding a Shiny Pokemon and this includes the game's Legendary Pokemon, such as Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Dialga and Cresselia. Unlike other wild Pokemon, which you can encounter as many times as you like as long as you hang around their preferred habitats, you will only ever encounter Uxie once per playthrough. This means that you will need to repeat your encounter by saving and restarting. Because of the low chance of encountering a Shiny Uxie, this process may take days to complete.

Instructions

  Travel to Snowpoint City, the northernmost point on the world map. By the time you are able to start searching for the three Legenday Psychic Pokemon, you will have traveled here already. Use one of your Pokemon that knows how to fly to fast-travel there.

  Exit the city to the west. Continue west until you reach Acutiy Lakefront, then take the northern path to get to Lake Acuity. Walk up to the water and press "A." You will be asked if you want to surf -- if you do not have a Pokemon that knows how to surf in your party, you will need to go back to the Pokemon Center and get one that does.

  Surf across the lake to get to the island in the center. Enter the cave on the island, which is where Uxie lives. Walk up to Uxie, but do not interact with him yet.

  Pause your game and save it. Talk to Uxie to begin the battle. If Uxie is shiny, he will flash before the battle begins and he will be a different color than his sprite was.

  Soft reset your game if Uxie is not shiny. Press "L," "R," "Start" and "Select" simultaneously to perform the soft reset. When you reload the game, you will be in the cave with Uxie. Keep soft resetting and talking to Uxie until he is shiny.

  Attack Uxie to reduce his health bar by about two-thirds. Throw Poke Balls until you successfully capture him. The best Poke Balls for catching Uxie are Ultra Balls, Dusk Balls and the Master Ball.
