How to Make Berries Grow Faster in Pokemon SoulSilver

The easiest way to build your berry supply in "Pokémon SoulSilver Version" is by growing them yourself. Raising berry plants can be a challenge, however, because many berries take a long time to mature and ripen -- some can take as long as five days before they're ready to harvest. If you don't have time to check your plants every few hours, the berries can go bad, forcing you to go through the process all over again. Using a few simple techniques, you can avoid these problems by cutting down the amount of time berries need to grow.

  Obtain the Squirt Bottle from the flower shop in Goldenrod City. The woman inside the shop will give it to you after you earn the Plain Badge from the city's gym leader, Whitney.

  Defeat Sudowoodo and get the Berry Pots. Travel north from Goldenrod City to Route 36 and use the Squirt Bottle on the tree blocking the path; it will reveal itself as a Pokémon and battle you. After you catch or beat Sudowoodo, a girl nearby will give you the Berry Pots.

  Purchase berry mulch from the flower shop. Return to Goldenrod City and talk to the flower shop lady; she will now sell you different kinds of mulch. Buy the Growth Mulch from her.

  Fill a pot with the Growth Mulch and then plant a berry. Using the mulch speeds up berry growth by 25 percent, but also causes the berries to dry up faster, so you will need to pick them quickly when they're ripe.

  Water your berries periodically. Every few hours, use the Squirt Bottle to aid your berries' growth. Doing so will not only make your berries grow faster, but will also increase the number of berries your plant yields. This will save time as you won't have to go through the growth process as many times.
