How to Start a New File in Pokemon Black

If this is your first time playing "Pokemon Black," you can start a new file simply by selecting "New Game" from the title menu. If you already have a file, you must delete your old file before you can begin playing a new file. To delete the old file, you have to input a certain button combination at the title screen that shows Zekron, the legendary Pokemon.

Instructions

      Insert the "Pokemon Black" game cartridge into the Nintendo DS.

      Press the Nintendo DS power button to turn it on. Select the "Pokemon Black" icon to start the game.

      Hold down on the directional pad, the "B" button and the "Select" button at the title screen.

      Select "Yes" to delete the old save file.

      Press "Start" to go to the options menu and select "New Game" to start a new file.
