How to Start a Wi-Fi Battle in Pokemon Platinum

One of the innovations Nintendo placed in "Pokemon Platinum" is the ability to challenge your friends to a Pokemon battle through the Nintendo Wi-Fi feature. This new battle system allows players to compete in strategic Pokemon fights using the Internet to connect their Nintendo DS systems. You can't play with complete strangers through the Wi-Fi battles, and you will need to swap a special Friend Code before you can start a battle.

Instructions

  Enter any Pokemon Center and take the stairs to the basement level after you talk to the members inside the Oreburgh Wi-Fi club.

  Talk to the nurse behind the counter to receive a Pal Pad containing your Friend Code.

  Open the Pal Pad from your item bag and give your Friend Code to the person you want to play a Wi-Fi Pokemon battle with.

  Select an open slot in your Pal Pad and record the other Pokemon trainer's Friend Code.

  Talk to the nurse again to connect to the friend lobby.

  Select a friend in the lobby and invite her to a Pokemon battle. The match begins as soon as the other member confirms the Pokemon battle.
