How to Catch a Surfing Pikachu in Pokewalker

With the Yellow Forest Pokewalker location, players are able to capture all sorts of rare Pikachu Pokemon. Unlike the other Pokewalker levels, all of the Pokemon that you can capture in the Yellow Forest are Pikachu. These Pikachu know wildly unique attacks such as Fly and Surf, but players will have to be active for a chance at finding them. A Pikachu that knows how to Surf will have a major advantage over Ground and Fire-type Pokemon.

Instructions

  Download the Yellow Forest Pokewalker course to your Pokewalker device. Use the Mystery Gift option to download Yellow Forest through Nintendo WFC.

  Import a Grass-type Pokemon to your Pokewalker. Grass Pokemon such as Carnivine, Ivysaur and Venusaur are less harmed by electrical attacks and the Surf move.

  Collect 9,500 or more steps on the Pokewalker. This is achieved by clipping the Pokewalker to your clothing and going on a long walk to add additional steps to the pedometer.

  Search the Yellow Forest with your Grass-type Pokemon. If you encounter a wild Pikachu that is at level 14, it knows the move Surf.

  Spend 10 Watts to capture a Surfing Pikachu. You earn one Watt for every 10 steps, so an attempt to capture a Surfing Pikachu takes 200 steps. Use your Grass-type Pokemon to weaken the rare Pikachu before you spend the Watts to capture it.
