How to Troubleshoot Backup Saves on Action Replay

Action Replay is a third-party cheating device for numerous home and handheld consoles that can perform a range of services, depending on the console. Exclusive to the Nintendo DS version of the accessory, the Action Replay software includes DataMax, which can be used to back up your saved game files directly to the device. If you are having trouble loading or saving backup saves to the peripheral, then there are some general troubleshooting tips you can follow to resolve your issues.

Instructions

    • 1

Reset your Nintendo DS system. The software of the Action Replay device and your Nintendo DS does not always cooperate flawlessly, which can lead to a handful of errors, including problems when trying to retrieve a saved game file that has been backed up to the device.

    • 2

Remove and replace the Action Replay card and any game cartridges from your Nintendo DS. Cards and cartridges can occasionally become dislodged, which can cause the device to fail when attempting to retrieve saved data that has been backed up to the Action Replay card.

    • 3

Delete the games currently backed up to your Action Replay card. This will cause you to lose any data that is not backed up in another location, but, if you want to use the card again, sometimes the only way to salvage the card is delete the data currently on it.
