How to Make an R4 Card Work With DSi

Nintendo DSi is a handheld gaming system with extensive features, including a camera, voice recording and playback and Internet capability. An R4i card can be used with the Nintendo DSi to download additional games, music, pictures, videos and ebooks. Using an R4i card gives DSi users more storage space than they would have when storing these items on the system itself. Nintendo DSi owners can purchase an R4i card and easily make it work on their DSi.

Instructions

  Go to the R4DS Cards website to access the R4 software download. Save the file to your computer and right-click on it when it finishes downloading. Click on "Extract All" to open the file.

  Place your microSD card into the R4i adapter. Insert the R4i adapter into a USB port on your computer.

  Wait for the "AutoPlay" window to pop up and click on "Open Folder to View Files."

  Copy each file that you extracted and paste them each into the microSD card folder.

  Test out your R4i card by placing the R4i adapter into the Nintendo DSi's game port and turning the system on. An R4 icon will appear on the main screen of the DSi.
