How to Catch Darkrai in Canalave City Without AR in Pokemon Diamond

In "Pokemon Diamond," Darkrai is a Dark-type Pokemon that has extremely high special attack statistics. It can learn moves such as Dark Void, Nasty Plot and Dark Pulse. Darkrai is an event-only Pokemon that can only be captured after receiving a "Membership Card" from a Nintendo event. This special item will grant you access to the Harbor Inn in Canalave City, where you will obtain a diary that reveals Darkrai's location.

Instructions

  Obtain the "Membership Card" at a Nintendo Pokemon event.

  Travel to Canalave City. Enter the Harbor Inn, located at the north-eastern side of the city.

  Speak with the man at the front of the inn to spend the night. You will be suddenly woken up in the middle of the night after having a dream about Darkrai.

  Approach the diary that has appeared near you and press "A" to read its contents, revealing Darkrai's location.

  Exit the inn and speak with the sailor located at the far southern end of Canalave City, who will take you to Newmoon Island.

  Head north and approach Darkrai. Press "A" to engage it in battle.

  Battle and weaken Darkrai until its hit points are in the critical red zone. Use super-effective Fighting- and Bug-type attacks to deal more damage.

  Throw a Dusk Ball or an Ultra Ball at Darkrai to capture it. If it breaks free, continue throwing Dusk Balls or Ultra Balls at it until it is captured.
