How to Get a New Wand & Hat in Magician's Quest: Mysterious Times

No self-respecting witch or wizard is complete without a magic wand and a hat in "Magician's Quest: Mysterious Times" for the Nintendo DS. You earn your first wand and hat quite early in the game, but there are many wands, staves, canes and hats you can earn as you progress through the game. Unlike most RPG-style games, you can't simply buy new weapons, although you can purchase different hats. Instead, you must earn them by leveling up and completing challenges.

Instructions

  Purchase hats from Vivian's Boutique. Vivian has an extensive stock of hats, robes, pants, dresses, glasses and other accessories. Her shop in town is open from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

  Earn new hats by achieving new Wizard Ranks. There is one hat per Star rank, one for reaching Magus rank and others for completing certain challenges. For example, if you cast prank magic on your classmates 100 times, you will get the Evil Wizard Rank, which rewards you with the Evil Wizard Hat. Information on Wizard Ranks and their respective challenges is available in-game in your wizard profile.

  Earn new staves and wands by attaining new Wizard Ranks. You get the Wooden Cane once you reach 4-Star Wizard Rank. As with the hats, you can complete various challenges to get new wands. For example, you can get the Skull Staff by defeating 100 ghosts with the Flatulence Spell and you can earn the Gentleman's Cane by speaking to every one of your classmates for 10 consecutive days.
