Preparing your PC and Readying the Action Replay Device
Download the latest version of the "Animal Crossing" Map Editor. Unzip the file to a convenient place on your PC.
Install the "Nintendo DS - GBA Max Drive" software that came with your Action Replay Max Duo device on your PC.
Insert your copy of "Animal Crossing: Wild World" into the Nintendo DS (NDS) slot of your action replay device. You also need to insert a Game Boy Advance (GBA) game into the GBA slot of your Action Replay device for this method to work.
Plug your action replay device into an universal serial bus (USB) slot on your computer.
Put your action replay device into the GBA slot of your NDS. Make sure that the GBA/DS switch on your Action Replay device is set to "DS."
Turn on the power of your NDS and boot up the GBA game. Hold the left shoulder buttons down while it is booting to make sure it loads in USB mode.
Saving Your Game to Your PC
Run the "Nintendo DS - GBA Max Drive" program you installed.
Choose "Max Drive DS" as the drive to manage when asked by the program. Then, choose "Backup My Game Cart Save" and choose "My PC Database" as the place to save it. Press the "Next" button.
Choose the "Manage and Swap Saves" option in the "Nintendo DS - GBA Max Drive" interface. Then, select "My Max Drive Vault."
Click on the save game file you want (in the window on the left side). Click on the "Decompress" button. Choose a place for the decompressed game save to be stored, then click on "OK.".
Running the Map Editor
Run the "Animal Crossing" Map Editor from where you unzipped it.
Choose a game save to open.
Edit your "Animal Crossing: Wild World" town map, inventory, residents and more as much, or as little, as you like.
