How to Trade in Pokemon Pearl

With the release of "Pokemon Pearl," Nintendo implemented the Wi-Fi functionality of the Nintendo DS console with the trading mechanic of the "Pokemon" series with the GTS. GTS stands for Global Trade Station. This is a specific location in "Pokemon Pearl" that allows players to connect and trade any Pokemon to anyone playing "Pokemon Diamond," "Pearl," "Platinum," "HeartGold" or "SoulSilver." The GTS is an excellent tool to trade Pokemon with players around the world.

Instructions

    • 1

Defeat Roark's Geodude, Onix and Cranidos in Oreburgh City for the GTS building to open in Jubilife City.

    • 2

Return to Jubilife City and enter the GTS building. The GTS is located in the large domed building to the far left of the Pokemon Center.

    • 3

Talk to the man behind the counter to start a trade. You must save your game before you can enter the trading room.

    • 4

Connect your Nintendo DS to the local Wi-Fi connection.

    • 5

Select the Deposit option to choose one of your Pokemon to put on offer for a trade. Scroll through your party and all of your PC boxes to locate Pokemon you want to trade. Choose a Pokemon that you would like to receive and any specifics such as gender or level.

    • 6

Confirm your choice and your Pokemon will be sent to the GTS. Check back soon to see if someone traded for your Pokemon by reconnecting to the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection.
