How to Defeat Snorlax in SoulSilver

Snorlax is located in the Kanto region of "Pokemon SoulSilver." You gain access to this region after defeating eight Johto region gym leaders, the Elite Four and Champion Lance. In Kanto, Snorlax blocks the entrance to Diglett's Cave on Route 11, east of Vermillion City. It is a formidable foe. This normal-type Pokemon's only weakness is fighting-type moves, and it packs a punch in return. The Snorlax you meet in "Pokemon SoulSilver" is Level 50. It knows the moves Giga Impact and Rollout, which can hit with up to 150 power, as well as Crunch and Block.

Several ultra balls or heavy balls (optional)

Instructions

  Walk east from Vermillion City to Route 11. A sleeping Snorlax blocks the road and prevents you from traveling further.

  Press the "Pokegear" icon on the DS touch screen, then touch the "Radio card" icon to listen to the Pokemon radio stations in the Kanto region.

  Use your stylus to drag the channel selector dot on the touch screen to the 12 o'clock position. The channel displays the name "Poke Flute." This flute music wakes the sleeping Snorlax and battle begins.

  Hit Snorlax with fighting-type moves to bring its health down quickly. If you don't have any fighting-type moves, use any other type of move except a ghost-type move. As a normal-type Pokemon, Snorlax is immune to ghost-type moves.

  Continue to hit Snorlax with battle moves until its health reduces to zero. When that happens, the Pokemon faints and you win.
