In "Viva Piñata: Pocket Paradise," players grow and maintain a garden with the intention of collecting piñatas that live and thrive inside. To advance in the game, players must achieve tasks. One such task is collecting every kind of pinata. In order to collect piñatas, players must lure in new piñatas and experiment on them. To collect all the pinatas, players must patiently go through an extensive trial and error process.

  Lure piñatas to your garden. A wild piñata appears from time to time at the edge of your garden. To lure it in, offer things from your garden to entice it. Different wild piñatas react to different plants. You must then give it whatever it requires to thrive, and it will become a resident and change colors. Your journal will tell you exactly what you need to do to make a piñata happy so it will become a resident.

  Create a variant by changing a piñata's color. Piñatas change color when you feed them specific items. Experiment with piñatas and food items. Each species in "Pocket Paradise" has a variant color.
