How Do You Fix the Power Plant in Pokemon SoulSilver?

The first time you arrive in Kanto in "Pokemon SoulSilver," you learn that the power plant is nonoperational and the electricity is out across the region. This prevents you from taking the Magnet Train and accessing radio stations such as the PokeFlute Station, which is needed to complete game quests. The nefarious Team Rocket is behind the loss of power, and it is up to you to retrieve a missing piece from the power plant that was stolen by a Team Rocket Grunt.

Instructions

  Talk to the worker at the power plant to find out about the missing part.

  Travel back to Cerulean City, and enter the Cerulean City Gym. You will have a brief encounter with a Team Rocket Grunt, who will quickly rush out of the gym.

  Follow the Team Rocket Grunt to Route 24 and confront him. He will challenge you to a Pokemon Battle.

  Defeat the Team Rocket Grunt with your best Pokemon. He will use a Level 30 Golbat, which is weak against Rock Type, Ice Type and Electric Type Pokemon.

  Talk to the Team Rocket Grunt after the battle, and he will tell you that the missing part is hidden on one of the life rings in the Cerulean City Gym. Head back to the gym, and check the life rings to find the missing part.

  Return to the Power Plant, and give the part to the worker to restore power to the Kanto region.
