How to Get a Sandshrew in Pearl

Sandshrew, the ground type Pokemon that evolves into Sandslash, is a first-generation Pokemon that can be caught in the fourth-generation game, "Pokemon Pearl." To encounter a wild Sandshrew in "Pokemon Pearl," you will have to utilize a "Pokemon Leaf Green" game cartridge. With the game cartridge inserted into your Nintendo DS, Sandshrew will appear in Wayward Cavern. Since Sandshrew is a ground type Pokemon, you should use water or grass type Pokemon to weaken it before capturing it.

     Push your copy of "Pokemon Leaf Green" into the cartridge slot of your Nintendo DS and turn the system on. Make sure "Pokemon Pearl" is in the game card slot at the top of the DS.

     Select the "Pokemon Pearl" icon and start the game. Press start at the main menu and select your game save file.

     Travel to Wayward Cavern either by using a bicycle or by flying to it.

     Go to the basement level of the cavern and roam around. Eventually, you will be attacked by a Sandshrew. Use a Pokeball to capture it.
