How to Get an Entei in Pokemon Platinum

Entei is a Pokemon introduced in the second generation of Pokemon games, but it is still a formidable fire-type Pokemon in generations as late as "Pokemon Platinum." Unfortunately, you can't catch Entei the natural way in "Pokemon Platinum," so you need to release Entei into the Pal Park. The Pal Park allows you to transfer Pokemon such as Entei from the older game versions designed for the Game Boy Advance into the new games designed for the Nintendo DS.

Instructions

    • 1

Put "Pokemon Leafgreen" with Pal Park capabilities into your DS. To get the migrate option on your "Leafgreen" game, you must see all of the Pokemon in the Sinnoh Pokedex and defeat the elite four in "Pokemon Platinum." You should also have a captured Entei in your Pokemon party on "Leafgreen."

    • 2

Turn on the DS and press "A" to surpass the opening screen and access the game menu. Below the regular options such as "Continue" and "New Game," an option should read "Migrate."

    • 3

Choose Entei to transfer from your "Leafgreen" version when the option appears along with five other Pokemon. Verify the transfer and turn off the game once you finish.

    • 4

Start your "Pokemon Platinum" game and pull up your map. Locate Route 211 -- where the Pal Park is located -- and travel there. You need to surf southeast from Sandgem Town to reach the Pal Park.

    • 5

Speak with the representative at the counter to access the Pal Park. Travel straight from the entrance to reach the mountain region. Walk around in the tall grass until your find the transferred Entei -- you have a limited number of pokeballs, so don't waste them on Pokemon other than Entei.

    • 6

Throw a pokeball at the Entei once the game prompts you. There is no traditional battling required. The ball will capture Entei without fail.

    • 7

Travel to the other sections of the Pal Park until you locate all of your recently transferred Pokemon. Catch all six and return to the front desk to receive a prize based on the time you took catching all the Pokemon.
