Snorlax is a Normal-type Pokemon introduced in the first generation Red, Blue, and Yellow Pokemon games. It is the evolved form of Munchlax. Snorlax excels in HP, attack, and special defense, but its defense, special attack, and speed leave much to be desired. With a tremendous movepool comprised of attacks such as the Belly Drum, Body Slam, Counter, and Ice Punch, Snorlax is capable of running a variety of sets, and makes a solid addition to any team. In "HeartGold," players must obtain the expansion card in order to wake up Snorlax and clear it from the path.

Head east from Saffron City onto route 8. Continue east to reach Lavender Town.

Enter the radio tower and talk to the man near the stairs to obtain the expansion card, which allows you to access the pokeflute channel.

Fly to Vermilion City and head east onto route 11. Walk up to Snorlax and access the Pokeflute Channel on the Radio. Talk to Snorlax while the music is playing, and it will attack.

Capture or defeat Snorlax in battle, and it will vacate itself from the path.
