How to Install an EDGE DS Skin

The EDGE flash cart allows you to play user-created games, video and music on your Nintendo DS system. You can modify the EDGE operating system by installing skins, or themes. If you want to install a new skin for your EDGE cart, you first need to ensure that the software is correctly installed. Once you are familiar with installation and editing EDGE files, installing a skin will be easy.

MicroSD card
EDGE card
USB to MicroSD adapter

  Insert the MicroSD card into the USB adapter and slide the adapter into an open USB port on your computer.

  Download the most recent version of the EDGE operating system, available on the official EDGE website.

  Unzip the operating system and drag it onto your MicroSD card. The operating system is now installed.

  Look at the contents of your MicroSD card. You will see a folder titled "EDGE." Double-click this folder.

  Right-click an empty spot in the window and select "New Folder." Create a folder titled "Skins."

  Find and download the skin of your choice. Dozens of skins are available on several websites.

  Unzip the downloaded skin file and drag it into the "Skins" folder on your MicroSD card.

  Remove the MicroSD card and insert it into your EDGE flash cart. Insert the cartridge into the Nintendo DS. You can access installed skins through EDGE's main menu.
