How to Fix a DS Speaker

Nintendo Customer Service offers advice for customers having problems with their DS speakers, specifically where there is no sound, or where sound is only coming through one speaker. If this guidance fails to help you, official advice is your system is in need of repair. You have the option to set up an online repair order, if you wish.

Instructions

No Sound

  Check the headphone port if there is no sound coming from either speaker. Remove any jack plugs inserted into the port.

  Move the volume control -- located near the base of the unit -- to the right to increase the volume.

  Check the game's sound option settings are as they should be.
Sound From One Speaker

  Turn off the system when sound is only coming through one speaker.

  Remove your game and turn up the volume to about halfway before restarting your system.
- 6
  Listen for a tone from both speakers, indicating they are working as they should.
