How Do I Get the Fishing Rod in The Sims 2: Castaway for DS?

In "The Sims 2: Castaway," you and your friends must build a thriving community on an unexplored tropical island. To do so, you need to master skills like hunting, crafting and fishing. To start catching fish in the ocean and streams, you need a fishing rod. Like everything else on the island, you must make the fishing rod yourself using several components. To put the rod together, gather bamboo, a nail and thread.

  Talk to Ms. Weeder, the gardener, and trade her one piece of flint and one palm frond for two bamboo seeds. Find flint by digging in the sand. Take a palm frond when you cut down any palm tree.

  Go to your crafting table and plant the bamboo seeds in the dirt patch. Water the seeds daily until they mature and then harvest the bamboo.

  Check the shipping crate that washes up on the beach every morning. At random, the box contains the nails needed to make the fishing rod.

  Collect one vine from the jungle path. Head to the crafting bench and select "Thread" to make the thread for the rod.

  Select "Fishing Rod" from the list at the crafting bench. Craft the fishing rod and place it in your inventory.
