How to Trade Pokemon in Soul Silver Step-by-Step

In order to complete your Pokedex in "Pokemon SoulSilver" and capture all of the Pokemon, you must trade either online or with friends. To trade in the game, you can utilize the trading station on the second floor of any Pokemon Center. To trade online, you must have access to a wireless Internet connection. In addition to being able to obtain more Pokemon, if you use a traded Pokemon in battle, it will receive 1.5 times the normal amount of experience points, making it easier to raise that Pokemon.

Instructions

Trading With a Friend

  Enter any Pokemon Center in the game and make your way to the second floor.

  Speak to the attendant in the middle to enter the Pokemon Wireless Club Union Room. Have your friend do the same.

  Save your game and enter the room. Talk to your friend and select "Trade."

  Select the Pokemon you wish to offer in trade and then select "Trade" to confirm your selection. Select "Yes" and have your partner do the same to initiate the trade. Once the trade is completed, you will have the other person's Pokemon in your party.
Trading Online

  Enter any Pokemon Center in the game and make your way to the second floor.

  Speak to the Global Trade Station attendant in the right corner. Save your game and select "Yes" when asked if you want to connect to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

  Select "Deposit Pokemon" or "Seek Pokemon," depending on what you wish to do. If you deposit a Pokemon, you can select a Pokemon that you want in exchange for that Pokemon. If you select to seek a Pokemon, you can see what the other person is asking in exchange for that Pokemon. Additionally, if you have a Pokemon the other person wants, you can trade immediately. If you select "Deposit Pokemon," you may need to wait a few hours until someone has a Pokemon that meets your requirements.
