How to Catch Marowak in Pearl

Marowak is known as the Bone Keeper Pokemon and resembles a small dinosaur wearing a helmet made from bone. In "Pokemon Pearl" Marowak can only be obtained by catching and evolving a Cubone. However, in "Pokemon Pearl" Cubone is considered a Swarming Pokemon, which is a group of Pokemon which only appear randomly under certain circumstances. Because of this, Marowak is not obtainable until the completion of the game's main storyline and until you have completed the National Pokedex.

Instructions

    • 1

Battle the Elite Four at the end of the game's main storyline to complete the game.

    • 2

Encounter every Pokemon native to the Sinnoh region to complete the National Pokedex. Refer to your Pokedex menu to see which Pokemon you have yet to encounter. You do not need to catch or defeat these Pokemon, just encounter them once in battle.

    • 3

Travel to your Sandgem City using Fly or your preferred travel method. Walk to your Rival's house at the south part of the city and talk to the little girl inside watching the television. She will give you a report on which Pokemon are swarming that day. If Cubone is not swarming, return the following day and continue to repeat this process until the girl tells you Cubone is swarming.

    • 4

Fly to Route 203 when Cubone is swarming and walk around until you have a wild Pokemon encounter with a Cubone. Battle the Cubone using your toughest Pokemon and capture it using a Pokeball when it becomes fatigued.

    • 5

Battle other Pokemon using your newly acquired Cubone to gain experience points and level up. When Cubone reaches Level 28 you will be given the option to evolve to Marowak. Select "Evolve" to obtain a Marowak.
