How to Evolve the Hero on Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorer of Darkness

"Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorer of Darkness" is a Nintendo DS game where players lead a Pokemon character, or hero, with a partner Pokemon through exploration, action and adventure in a fantasy environment. Pokemon, including the hero, evolve to different types under certain conditions. The types of Pokemon the hero can evolve into depend on which of 16 Pokemon the player is assigned at the beginning of the game. Pokemon are assigned based on a personality test.

Instructions

  Complete the Darkrai story arc. Speak to Ursarig, who will tell you that something is different now in Luminous Spring.

  Allow the end credits to run through upon completing the game. You will then receive an extra mission featuring Manaphy.

  Complete the extra mission and unlock the Marine Resort Dungeon. Go to Luminous Springs and the hero will automatically evolve to the next levels appropriate to the type of Pokemon assigned at the start of the game, if you so choose.

  Choose which level to stop evolving at: either Level 2 or Level 3. Your hero began the game at Level 1, and you can still keep it there if you wish.
