How to Fix Auction Replay DS Glitches

Some of the glitches created in Nintendo DS games by using an Action Replay device are beneficial, such as the ability to walk through walls. Occasionally, however, glitches are the nasty side effect of certain cheat codes and may cause problems in your game that prevent you from proceeding or performing key actions. If you are experiencing problems with your Action Replay, there are a few options for removing the glitch by yourself before you call tech support.

Instructions

    • 1

Install the Action Replay Code Manager software onto your computer. Load the disc into your computer's optical drive and follow the onscreen instructions to install the software to your hard drive. If you have already installed the software, skip this step.

    • 2

Connect your Action Replay device to your computer with the USB cable. Run the Action Replay Code Manager software by selecting it from the "Programs" submenu in your "Start" menu, or by double clicking the software shortcut on your desktop if you selected that option during installation.

    • 3

Update the Action Replay's firmware. Click the "Update" button near the top of the Action Replay Code Manager window. The program will search Datel's Code Junkies website for updates to the firmware, then automatically downloads and installs them to your Action Replay. Test the game to see if the glitch is still causing problems for your game.

    • 4

Delete the code associated with the glitch if the problem persists after updating your firmware. Go into the Action Replay Code Manager software again and deselect the box next to the cheat code in "My Codelists."

    • 5

Click the "Commit Changes" button above the "My Codelists" section to remove the code from the Action Replay. Test the game to see if the glitch persists.

    • 6

Delete the game save data from the game cartridge. This is typically done through an in-game data management system that you can access from the game's main menu, but the process for this varies from game to game. For example, "Pokemon" games for the DS require you to hold down a specific set of buttons while the game loads before it prompts you to delete your game data. Check your game's manual for details on deleting game save data. If the problem persists, contact Nintendo or Datel technical support.
