How to Install Free Software Updates Into the Nintendo DS Replay

Datel's Action Replay device for the Nintendo DS comes with a free copy of the Action Replay Code Manager software. This program allows you to manage the codes on your Action Replay device, download the latest codes from Datel's Code Junkies website and download the latest updates to your device's firmware. As with any firmware updates for gaming consoles and other devices, the Action Replay updates may fix bugs and glitches and improve functionality of your device.

  Install the Action Replay Code Manager software onto your computer using the installation disc included with your Action Replay device. Load the disc into your computer, then follow the on-screen prompts to install the software using Datel's recommended settings.

  Plug the small end of the included USB cable into the Action Replay device, then plug the large end into one of your computer's free USB ports. Launch the Action Replay Code Manager software -- it will be in the "Programs" sub-menu of your "Start" menu, or there will be a shortcut icon on your desktop if you opted for one during installation.

  Click the "Update" button on the Action Replay Code Manager window. The button is near the top of the window. The software will search for any updates to the Action Replay firmware, then download and install them if any are found.
